The production uses 180-degree projection that surrounds the performer and provides scenic, artistic, and historical context to the show through their content. The images feature a unique mix of Philip R. Goodwin’s classical illustrations from the book’s first edition, period photographs, and brand-new drawings and animations created by artist Michael Rae. Theatreworks presentation of a one-woman play that dramatizes Melba Patillo Beals’s memoir of the battle to integrate Little Rock’s central high. The performance is viewed through the lens of a contemporary young activist who questions: “What does a warrior look like? What is worth fighting for? Can a young person change the world?” Employing sophisticated video technology, original music, spoken word, poetry, and prose, the show will be a catalyst for deeper discussion about social responsibility, civil discourse, social media, community engagement and freedom.

Wilma Jean the Worry Machine, based on the book by Julia Cook, is a fun and humorous musical that offers creative strategies for parents and teachers to use that can lessen the severity of anxiety. Everyone feels fear, worry and apprehension from time to time, but when these feelings prevent a person from doing what they want and/or need to do, anxiety becomes a disability.

Movement artist and educator Madeline Warriner directs Pentangle’s after school dance camp. In this camp dancers will be fully immersed in a fun and challenging creative dance experience. Campers will take daily classes in Contemporary Modern Technique and Choreography, as well as other styles like Jazz and Hip-hop.
