In this inclusive and supportive environment, we will put together a culminating performance, challenging campers to create, collaborate, and explore new ways of thinking, articulating, and moving. About the Instructor: Madeline Warriner is a movement artist, educator, and advocate residing in Brooklyn. She graduated from Rutgers University with a BFA in Dance and an EdM in Dance Education, where she received university and professional awards. Before college, she trained at Broadway Dance Center, through which she had opportunities to dance on Good Morning America and at The Gershwin Theater. She currently performs with Shantelle Courvoisier Jackson’s loveconductors, JoAnna Mendl Shaw’s The Equus Projects, and has performed work by Stephan Koplowitz, Manuel Vignoulle, Doug Elkins, Randy James, and others. Through college she choreographed high school musicals in New Jersey, but currently she teaches Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip-hop for Dancewave in Brooklyn, Dance Theatre of Harlem’s Dancing Through Barriers program, and Bates Dance Festival’s Youth Arts Program. She teaches Yoga and Pilates to adults and children throughout New York City, and created Harlem Yoga Studio’s kids and teen yoga teacher training and curriculum. She has shared mindfulness, movement, and brain development PD workshops with teachers and administrators around the US and Switzerland. She is excited that Pentangle Arts Creative Dance Programming is embarking on its third year and has expanded to summer, fall, and spring workshops, with dance appreciation and intro to dance classes for over 700 public school students and curious adults. Maddie is hoping to continue to create spaces where students explore big ideas about self and community through improvisation, choreography, and different styles of technique.
