This November, Sharon Groblicki will teach a youth theater course as part of Pentangle’s After School Program. Groblicki will lead lessons in singing, acting and traditional dance from American Mummers plays. Traditional dances will include Morris Dance, Square dances, Sword and English Country Dance, with songs from traditional Wassail Celebrations. Students will learn about the origins of the traditions behind Wassail Celebrations as well as reenact a historic Wassail Celebration.
The class will culminate in a final Wassail Weekend performance on Saturday, December 10th at 3:00 pm in the Woodstock Town Hall Theatre.
About the Instructor: Sharon Groblicki is a performing arts teach from the area. She had a vibrant career in the Performing Arts in New York City, as well on tour throughout the United States. She directed Pentangle’s Production of Joseph and Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat and has for years run Pentangle Summer Stock Theater Camp. She currently teaches at the Barnard Academy.
