Information for Participants
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Light Garden. Now in our fourth year, we have expanded the size of the installation on the Green and have added some new features. We look forward to a colorful, vibrant exhibit that captures the spirit of our community.
Parameters: Sculptures may be on any theme but must incorporate lights in some way. Lights should be outdoor safe, possibly Christmas lights, LED lights, candles in containers, or string lights used in gardens and patios. No spots or lights of large wattage that could pose a fire hazard are allowed. We encourage the use of recycled or repurposed materials.
Any size up to 10 feet x 10 feet x 10 feet is acceptable. Sculptures must be completely weatherproof….able to withstand rain and wind and still function, look good, and be safe for the public.
The community will once again vote for their favorite sculpture during the weekend and a People’s Choice Award will be presented on Saturday at 8:00 pm.
Dates and Deadlines: Spaces are limited and it is first come, first serve. Please let me know of your interest ASAP.
More information will be provided closer to the event but participants should be prepared to email a description of the sculpture, its approximate size and its title several weeks before the installation.
Set-up is Friday afternoon, Sept. 23 beginning at 2:00 pm. All works should be in place and ready to connect to electricity by 6:00 pm.
The Light Garden will be lit on the Friday and Saturday evenings from dusk until 10:30pm.
Clean up takes place on Sunday morning, September 24, at 10 am.
