About the Theatre
Pentangle Arts, located in the historic Woodstock Opera House, is a cornerstone of cultural enrichment in Woodstock. Dedicated to fostering a vibrant arts scene, we offer a wide range of performances, educational programs, and community events. The theater's rich history and Victorian elegance provide a stunning setting for these experiences, enriching our community and celebrating the arts.
Celebrating Over a Century of Cultural Excellence
Since opening on October 12, 1900, this venue has been a hub of cultural excellence, initially hosting a banquet hall and a Victorian-style opera house known as the Woodstock Opera House. It was acclaimed at the time as comparable to the best cultural centers in Boston and beyond.
The Legacy Continues as home to the Pentangle Arts Council. Woodstock Opera House is now the Woodstock Town Hall Theatre.
Founded in 1974, Pentangle has supported performances that entertain, educate, and inspire audiences of all ages. Our movies, theater, youth enrichment, and concerts throughout the year are attended by as many as 5,000 local residents and up to 7,000+ visitors annually.
